01Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Sutra ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App. The App is provided by M1 Insights Inc. ("M1 Labs," "we," "us," or "our"). Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
02Description of Service
Sutra is a daily Hindu practice companion. It offers a plain-English retelling of the Bhagavad Gita, a daily verse from the Gita and the Upanishads, a library of prayers and mantras with audio, festival guides, a private record of your daily practice ("The Thread"), widgets, optional daily reminders, and an optional feature called First thing. Some features require a Sutra Pro subscription. The Bhagavad Gita in Sutra is free.
03Spiritual Content
The texts, retellings, prayers, and practice guides in Sutra are offered for personal devotional and educational use. They reflect one reading among many traditions and interpretations. Sutra is not a religious authority, does not issue religious rulings, and does not replace guidance from a teacher, priest, or community you trust. Festival dates follow a general India-based calendar and may differ from your local or family tradition. Nothing in the App is medical, psychological, or professional advice.
04Sutra Pro Subscriptions
Sutra Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks features such as the full prayer library with audio, First thing, and Thread widgets. Prices and billing periods are shown in the App before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of the trial ends when you buy a subscription. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. If your subscription ends, Pro features stop, and the rest of the App remains free to use. We may add, change, or retire features over time.
05First Thing and Screen Time
First thing uses Apple's Screen Time framework to hold back apps you choose until you finish the day's practice. It is a self-directed habit tool, not a parental control or a security feature. You can skip a day, change your apps, or turn it off at any time. iOS decides how and when apps are held back, and we do not guarantee that it will hold back every app every time. Do not rely on First thing in any situation where access to an app is urgent or safety-critical.
06License and Acceptable Use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, for personal and non-commercial purposes, as permitted by the App Store usage rules. You agree not to: (a) copy, redistribute, or sell the App's content, including its texts and audio recordings; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or modify the App; (c) use the App for any unlawful purpose; (d) present the App or its content as an official religious authority.
07Intellectual Property
The App and everything in it, including its software, design, branding, written content, curated prayer collection, and audio recordings, is owned by or licensed to M1 Insights Inc. ("M1 Labs," "we," "us," or "our") and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Scriptures in their original ancient form are part of the public domain; the specific retellings, arrangements, and recordings in Sutra are not. You may share the verse images the App creates for personal, non-commercial purposes.
08Apple App Store
These Terms are between you and M1 Insights Inc. ("M1 Labs," "we," "us," or "our"), not Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, or claims that the App infringes a third party's intellectual property rights. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
09Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, M1 Insights Inc. ("M1 Labs," "we," "us," or "our") disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its content, dates, or reminders will always be accurate or on time.
10Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, M1 Insights Inc. ("M1 Labs," "we," "us," or "our") shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on its content. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.
11Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.
12Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
